The Conversation is a literary arts platform staffed by students who aim to empower their peers at San Marcos High School through the cultivation of an interactive online community that celebrates all student voices. Throughout the year, SMHS students are encouraged to submit their original compositions organized into three primary categories: social commentary, story, and poetry. The Conversation staff is committed to assisting all students in the refinement of their voices before publication. Through publishing a plurality of student voices, we aim to raise awareness of various perspectives and to promote balanced conversations that will bring about change on campus and beyond. Each published work will be entered into the annual Phreaner Writing Contest at the end of the school year.

 

La Conversación es una plataforma de las artes literarias donde un grupo de estudiantes trabaja con el objetivo de capacitar a sus compañeros en San Marcos High School por medio de la promoción del desarrollo de una comunidad interactiva por internet que celebra las voces de todos los estudiantes. A lo largo del año escolar, se alienta a los estudiantes de SMHS a que envíen sus composiciones originales, que se dividirán en tres categorías: Comentarios sociales, historias, y poesía. Los miembros de “La Conversación” están comprometidos a asistir a todo estudiante que busque el refinamiento de sus voces previas a la publicación. Por medio de la publicación de diversas voces de estudiantes, esperamos crear conciencia de varias perspectivas y promover un equilibrio de conversaciones que atraigan un cambio en el campuses y más allá de este. Cada trabajo publicado será presentado en el concurso anual “Phreaner Writing” al final del año escolar.
